Lose Yourself Within The Universe letter image

A tree is a tree because we named it so.

Inflation exists because we gave it a meaning.

Stress exists because we managed to damage our psyche.

Languages exist because of the alphabets we created.

When I say nothing is real, I really mean it in the most profound way, that is going to empower you to achieve more rather than becoming afraid of this.

The above statements became standards because some people, many, many centuries ago, had the power to influence and persuade others. This is how human evolution emerged: leaders and followers. Leaders simply started to name and give meaning to things that made sense for the people around.

As we know, some leaders did a lot of good, while others did terrible things. Beyond their actions, there were other people, ready to listen and execute whatever ideas their leader had. Oftentimes not even questioning whether or not those ideas could negatively impact other cultures.

I have a similar example from one of my previous jobs. I was a developer in a company activating in the online gambling industry. The CEO in charge had great ideas, which made my work even pleasing to do, because it was complex and challenging. I was growing and growing in programming skills, a lot of money was coming in monthly, so everything seemed just great.

Until I started to question How does my work impact others? It didn't take me long time to realize I was directly contributing to one of the biggest problem in Europe: gambling. The more optimized I developed that software, the more people were trapped into a gambling addiction.

For example, this is why I'm now running Just Overload, it has a people-first approach, and not a money-milking system. It's developed according to my values, which brings joy into my everyday work.

We may all have done bad things in the past. The differentiator is to contribute with good intentions from now on.

As in my case, in order to grow, we might have to struggle, suffer, endure, or impact others, and that's all right to some degree. As long as you're doing that temporarily, with the intention to give back way more afterwards, this is it.

I adhere to never do something against your will, but sometimes, it's impossible. Think of an unfortunate case of young parents in an unfavoured country that are working in a factory where the work conditions are abusive. What could they do? Just stop working? They'll die starving, and their kids too.

Nothing is real

Everything on the earth exists because of evolution. The evolution grew based on ego, competition and comparison. It's not long since we've discovered especially the impact of wealthy narcissists. They're ready to destroy anything to accomplish their dreams.

The most recent person who proved that anyone with power can redefine the standards is Dubai's prime-minister. 30 years ago, he foreseen a new way of monetization apart from the falling oil levels: tourism and real estate.

Anything to assure him it was the right choice? Nothing could do it, he just had to try it anyway.

Don't fall into discouraging thoughts. They belong to the society you grew into.

Think about the Eiffel Tower, what would each of us feel today if we were taught since kids that our way to live is becoming like the Eiffel?

  • Extremely tall, to glance at anything around us
  • Inspiring other people
  • People are happy around us
  • Blinking and shining every day, no exception
  • Create an economic effect for people nearby, and grow together

You only got one life, the end date is unknown. I wish you realize the power of losing yourself within the universe, and pursue the most healthy and beneficial paths.

Anything you believe, will accomplish. Just believe and go after the process.

Yes, just believing won't cause any physical effect. It's just giving you purpose to do the required work day after day. I'm not talking about religion, but about the combination of your spiritual and mental alignment.

Any inventor had 2 simple steps to craft his idea:

  • Believed in himself that can build something non existent - spiritually convinced
  • Followed the process every day that will turn the idea a reality - mental strength

Having a strong spiritual connection with yourself unlocks your creative mind, which is now seldom activated. We are living good decades of consumerism, where our brain is bombed with cheap dopamine rewards from any direction. We barely find any purpose in our life, because we are doing nothing by ourselves.

These are some of my experiences since I started to pay attention to my spiritual beliefs.

Belief: I can get a better job

Once I set that fixed, I started to train for interviews, from both the technical and interpersonal perspectives. It took 2 months to start my first day at a way better company.

Belief: I can live in a foreign country

It was our last night in Dubai, smoking shisha on our hotel's rooftop, and thinking how to move together, as she was living in France and I in Romania. We were around 8 months into long-distance relationship, where hard thoughts were coming from time to time, no matter what.

Only then I truly belived in myself that I'll be able to live abroad, no matter the circumstances, and within the next hour of discussing when are we going to see each other again, I decided to buy a one-way ticket to France next Friday, 6 days later.

The healthy pressure I created for myself has lead me to an extreme and fast growth that I could find new ways for everything that was keeping me blocked in Romania.

Sometimes, if there's no external pressure, you have to create it yourself.

Belief: I can do business

I was thinking of entrepreneurship for 3 years. I did nothing but reading, listening and absorbing information. I was too scared to fail or be criticized.

I started with a small, non-profit Pomodoro project, another extremely small project which will soon get deprecate, and a third but not good enough project which I did no marketing for it.

As you can guess, I did not believe in myself. Until one day, when I finally decided to tackle and solve one of my personal issues: How can I guarantee that my muscles will grow through my training?

At that time, I deeply belived I am finally prepared to do business, and this is how Just Overload emerged.

You will never know the exact and precise path. Life is about gut feeling.

Belief: Stress doesn't exist

I was heading to my office, feeling every vein in my head pumping hard, my palms were sweaty, and was able to inhale just about 70%. I was on the verge of burnout.

Apart from the breaking relationship I was into, my manager spoke with the technical director the prior day, lying about my efficiency and productivity, thus I was waiting in the director's office.

Most of us would say: Hey, it's normal, you had a bunch of bad things going on.

Looking back, with the knowledge I have know, I'd say I was unprepared, not stressed. I simply didn't have the strategies to help me manage those situations.

Certainly, there was external pressure towards me, which honestly, grew me regardless of my interpretation of it. I got a better position within the same company, and I stepped out of that relationship afterwards.

But my brain, psyche and body were all damaged throughout that timeframe, including my productivity, joy of life, social quality and overall negative thoughts. They could have been totally avoided if I knew how to handle those situations.

Stress is a thing only if you're giving it a meaning. There is really one way of dissolving its power: authenticity.

Letter's knowledge

Nothing on this planet is the right way of doing the thing. Everything was simply created by our most influential ancestors, which were brave enough to take the big risks.

With this in mind, you can change any aspect of this world, no matter how many generations is going to take, or through how many law iterations you need to go through.

When you are about to revolutionize a sector, the government will always look for ways of creating some cages to prevent letting you expand bigger than them.

Think about Revolut, OpenAI, Bitcoin, gambling, alcohol, drugs, nicotine. All of them changed or are changing the world. The last ones are changing us in a bad way, but they are still legal, and the government is the only one to decide. As long they take a cut for it, everything's fine.

Use fears and angriness as fuel for your ideas. The world needs more inspirational people to stand out.

Until the next letter, I wish you success in everything you're up to!
