You Are Supposed To Be Tired letter image

Ever feel like you're constantly tired, no matter how much rest you get?

You're certainly not alone. I started to feel the same last week. It irritated me when looked at my routines and everything seemed just fine:

  • Healthy and clean diet
  • 8 hours of sleep
  • 6 days of gym training
  • Stretching

When tiredness and frustration infiltrate into our mind, they act like fuel for it, starting to create illusions:

  • It's not for me
  • I cannot do that
  • It's not sustainable
  • I'd better go to eat whatever I want as I have just one life

I am sure you can understand how quickly this can turn into a destructive process and blow all your progress so far. It wouldn' be the first time I go through it.

What I decided to do instead, was to explore deeply where this apathy comes from. And I found one missing piece from my routines: mindfulness.

Because I did not practice it as before, my mind started to wander any direction it wanted, creating fake monsters beyond my road to success.

We indeed need monsters to fight with in order to grow, become better and enjoy life at a higher peak, but real ones.

In that moment, I realised my energy was spent on 2 big things:

  • Striving for more in life
  • My mind creating fake fears, blockages, obstacles, imaginary limitations

All right, we can work through the second issue through mental practices and gain even more energy. But that doesn't sound enough. And it stroke me:

Being tired when living in authenticity, means honoring yourself for living the desired life.

I want to go through some reasons we would normally put blame on:

Balancing Multiple Responsibilities

Life is a juggling act, and trying to balance work, family, and personal time can be exhausting.

The more responsibilities you have, the more energy you expend, often leaving you feeling drained.

Chasing Ambitious Goals

Ambition is a double-edged sword. While it drives us to achieve great things, it also demands a significant amount of energy and effort.

Pushing yourself to reach high goals can naturally lead to fatigue.

Facing Constant Stress

Stress is a major energy drain. Whether it's work-related stress, financial worries, or personal challenges, constant stress can take a toll on your physical and mental well-being, leaving you perpetually tired.

Dealing with Health Issues

Sometimes, underlying health issues can contribute to constant tiredness. Poor nutrition, lack of exercise, and sleep disorders are common culprits that can sap your energy.

Living in a Fast-Paced World

We live in a fast-paced world where everything moves quickly, and we're expected to keep up. This relentless pace can be overwhelming and exhausting, making it hard to ever feel fully rested.

You will either feel the struggle of not accomplishing or the one of accomplishing. Pick and embrace the one that fits you.

Now, let's see them through positive perspective, to let them bring motivation instead:

Understand the Demands of Modern Life

In today's world, we're often expected to juggle numerous responsibilities simultaneously.

From managing work commitments to taking care of family, and finding time for personal interests, it's no wonder we feel exhausted. The constant need to switch between roles drain energy reserves.

Life is a balancing act. You have to stay on top of everything, but it's okay to feel tired sometimes.

It means you're doing your best.

Achievement Requires Energy

Ambition fuels our drive to succeed, but it also requires a significant amount of energy.

Pursuing big dreams and goals means long hours, intense focus, and relentless effort.

Feeling tired is a natural byproduct of pushing your limits and striving for better.

When you're close to reaching your fatigue threshold, offer yourself a couple of days off to recover.

Address the Impact on Your Well-Being

Stress is an inevitable part of life, but constant stress shouldn't be.

Whether it's the pressure of deadlines, financial concerns, or personal issues, stress consumes a lot of mental and physical energy.

It's important to recognize the toll it takes and find ways to manage it.

Mindfulness unlocks the ability of your mind to decide what things you can control, and only care about them, letting go of the rest.

Identify and Address Underlying Causes

Sometimes, the root cause of your tiredness may be related to health issues.

The most 3 common issues that are people tend to encounter are:

  • Poor nutrition
  • Lack of physical activity
  • Sleep disorders

Do you know the best part? All of them are instant fixable.

To experience a joyful life, it's essential to pay attention to your body's signals and take steps to improve your health.

Adapt to Modern Society

We live in an era where everything moves quickly, and we're expected to keep pace.

The constant influx of information and the pressure to stay connected is overwhelming as we are not used to this speed yet.

While it's still difficult to adapt to new things, I found a way that works for me:

Ease of adaptation is linked to our desire for control.

To adapt means unknown. Unknown equals no control.

Let control go and adaptation will come easier.

Letter's quest

Understand that being tired is often a sign of your efforts and dedication.

We need to learn to manage energy effectively. For the next week, try to implement at least 2 of the methods below:

  • Reflect on your daily responsibilities and identify areas where you can delegate or reduce the load
  • Set realistic goals and break them into manageable steps to avoid burnout
  • Practice stress management techniques, such as meditation, deep breathing exercises, or physical activity
  • Prioritise health by maintaining a balanced diet, exercising regularly, and ensuring you get at least 7-8 hours or sleep
  • Limit your exposure to constant information and create boundaries for digital consumption

Ready to embrace your tiredness as a sign of your hard work and dedication?

Let's turn this fatigue into a badge of honor and manage it effectively for a more fulfilling life.

Until the next letter, I wish you success in everything you're up to!
